It’s all about texture.

Hi fashionable people,

it all started with the movie The September Issue about American VOGUE, in which Grace Coddington is doing a shooting under the topic of texture. Since that I was wondering, what role texture plays in the world of menswear and started thinking outside the box of cotton, wool or silk (and Anna Wintour so beloved fur either – it’s summer boys!).
So here are my most loved pieces:

Blogger and designer Karl Philip Leuterio in a black leather dress with an edgy cut and zippers.
Found here on his Lookbook and Blog.

A silver PVC vest from the Paradigm Shift Shop (which is a Philippine based online shop)…

…and the cool extraterrestrial looking fabric used in mixture with a grey cotton t-shirt.
Last but not least a look at the important designers and brands: you all will remember
BURBERRY PRORSUM’s AW 2011 show with the variable fabrics for their coats.

And up-to-date: Dolce & Gabbana SS 2012 brought us meshed shirts, jackets and shoes.
And finally a little bit of self-promotion: me wearing a neoprene t-shirt by H&M Trend in combination with cotton shorts (H&M Trend as well) and black leather DocMartens-boots.

So boys and girls don’t hesitate to use more eccentric fabrics for your garments, because the right use of texture or mixes of different ones, is an undeniable proof of a good sense of style.

Stay fashionable!
xx
